3DS MAX – Micro Reference Manual – Modifiers – Mesh Editing – MultiRes

3DS MAX – Micro Reference Manual – Modifiers – Mesh Editing – MultiRes

The MultiRes modifier reduces the memory overhead needed to render models by decreasing the number of vertices and polygons.

With this modifier you can:

– model a geometry

GENERAL

1. Create an object
2. Select the object, RIGHT COLUMN> Modify> Modifier List> OBJECT-SPACE MODIFIERS> Multi Res
3. RIGHT COLUMN> Modify> Multi Res> ‘Generate’
4. RIGHT COLUMN> Modify> Multi Res> Resolution> ‘Vert Percent’ or ‘Ver Count’

3DS MAX – Micro Reference Manual – Modifiers – Mesh Editing – Face Extrude

3DS MAX – Micro Reference Manual – Modifiers – Mesh Editing – Face Extrude

The Face Extrude modifier extrudes faces along their normals, creating new faces along the sides of the extrusion that connect the extruded faces to their object. As with most modifiers, this affects the current face selection passed up the stack.
Face Extrude modifier are animatable!!!

With this modifier you can:

– model a geometry
– animate a geometry

GENERAL

1. Create an object
2. Select the object, RIGHT COLUMN> Modify> Modifier List> OBJECT-SPACE MODIFIERS> Face Extrude
3. RIGHT COLUMN> Modify> Face Extrude> setup parameters

3DS MAX – Micro Reference Manual – Modifiers – Mesh Editing – EditMesh

3DS MAX – Micro Reference Manual – Modifiers – Mesh Editing – EditMesh

The Edit Mesh modifier provides explicit editing tools for different sub-object levels of the selected object: vertex, edge, and face/polygon/element. The Edit Mesh modifier matches all the capabilities of the base Editable Mesh object, except that you cannot animate sub-objects in Edit Mesh.

With this modifier you can:

– model a geometry
